6–9 month unpaid internship designed to give paralegal students work experience. Looking to hire one student every 6 months. 1-2 days per week. Flexible Hours/Days but must have consistent schedule and be dependable. Job Duties: Photocopying, faxing, answering phones, filing, following up on ordering medical records and bills, research projects as assigned. The intern will also get other projects as assigned and basic training on case management using Needles software which is a software program that many law firms use. The OGC is looking for a Paralegal Student Intern. This is an ongoing position; the plan is to keep rotating interns through – with no particular end in sight. 10-20 hours per week. Office hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00 p.m. – flexible days/times; but require least twice a week & a minimum of 3 hours per day on a regular schedule.

Student will assist the office’s two Paralegal Specialists with administrative duties related to the agency’s litigation matters. The student will have an opportunity to work hands on with the federal court case filing and docketing systems (ECF/PACER), as well as the opportunity to assist with preparing documents for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, a quick learner, get along well with a variety of people, and have good computer skills. Prior legal office experience is helpful, but not required. Neither parking nor public transportation is subsidized and the student must be able to pass a federal background check including fingerprinting.

Located in the Columbia Tower in downtown Seattle, the OGC handles agency litigation for the States of Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Idaho.
